Levin Furniture Better Business Complaint

By jwochna

First off — Levin Furniture still sucks.

Second – I took so some time tonight to file a Better Business Bureau complaint:

Tracking number: 8814D-283EA-BD459-A9485-B3C86-5D616-61

I’ll keep you posted how it goes!

Just don’t get it — Levin can’t return a simple phone call?

Levin Furniture has horrible service.

On the subject of Better Business Complaints, I recently filed a complaint about a restaurant that removed an additional $50 from my account and refused to return it to me. I don’t think that owners realize that people are aware of the BBB and will complain.

I completely agree. I’m really shocked at some of the stories I’ve been hearing. I doesn’t make sense. Lousy, non-responsive, horrible service causes owners, companies, businesses so much more trouble (and revenue) down the road. I bet you will have second thoughts of going back to that place — that’s lost business. Sure hope the $50 were worth it for them! Thanks for the post!

The Facts: LEVIN ONLY WANTS YOUR $$$ NOT YOUR BUSINESS.
Sadly, we’re also involved in a ridiculous on-going experience with Levin. We bought a leather chair & ottoman in 12/2008. Upon unpackaging, we found front chair shoulder was deeply depressed like an elephant stood on it in the warehouse. We called Levin repairs & they said a repair tech had to look at it. 3weeks later he arrived & determined it needed replaced. (really!) TWO weeks later he turned in his paperwork. 6 weeks passed & we heard nothing. So I called & Levin repairs told us it could take up to 9 weeks for replacement. So I waited another 3 weeks and still no call–no contact. So I called AGAIN– and Levin researched it–finding that it was on indefinite order. It simply was not going to be replaced. The rep said she couldn’t issue a refund (since we’d already paid for it 4.5 months ago). But if we could get to a Levin in 30 days we could re-select. I said we’d try, but don’t get near one often. This was in April, 2009. Little did I realize, but that “30 day” mention was going to be very critical–if I ever wanted to see my $$$ again! So I went to look, within 2 weeks actually, and didn’t find anything that we really needed–other than expensive lamps and accessories– for an excuse to use up my $$$. So we waited awhile-hoping selection or our needs would change. In July, 2009 we went into Levin in hopes of finding something to use our credit toward. We found an item and asked if we could apply our credit (which was $$$ we already paid). The manager Joe Chojnacki stated: you’re credit has been VOIDED. You no longer have credit with us–you didn’t reselect within 30 days of our notifying you! I couldn’t believe it. We had not been contacted –though he said we were–I had no telephone message or paper mail notifying me that because we did not forcibly choose another piece of merchandise–(whether we wanted it or not)–within 30 days (meanwhile they had our $$$ for 4.5 months already!)– we would loose every hard -earned dollar. I couldn’t believe it! Manager Joe, a shamefully unpleasant man, told me if I wasn’t happy about it I had to contact CHUCK the supervisor of the Levin Repair Dept–to request a refund. So I did–that very day. Of course Chuck was not available, so I left a message requesting that he please call me back to help us with this crazy predicament we were in. A week later, hmm… no call!- surprise surprise. So I called again. I spoke to Chuck who made my ugly experience with JOE seem like a picnic. Chuck had no intentions of helping me out with a refund. Infact, he said because it had taken so long for “ME” to do anything about my furniture problem (the nerve!) –he would only, at best, be willing to refund me 80% of the $$ I had already paid Levin (back in December 2008!) That’s it! And he would not even reinstate my credit to allow me to reselect, even if I wanted to–until he sent another repair tech to look at my furniture AGAIN!
We are still without furniture and without our $$$. THE FACTS ARE CLEAR: LEVIN IS A SCAM– THEY DON’T UNDERSTAND WHEN YOU PAY $$$ FOR SOMETHING , YOU EXPECT TO GET SOMETHING. AS CUSTOMERS WE ARE NOT DONATING $$$ TO THEM AS A CHARITY. PLEASE DON’T GIVE $$$ TO LEVIN– THEY DON’T CARE ABOUT YOU AND ARE CROOKS.
